Paragon hosts “Heart” March 27th

MARKSVILLE, La., March 18, 2008-Hard rocking sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson prove they still have what it takes when they bring their band, Heart, to the Mari Showroom at Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville, La. on March 27 at 8 p.m.

Heart got their start in Canada, where original band members Steve Fossen, Roger Fisher, Mike Fisher, and Ann and Nancy Wilson moved soon after they started playing together. With the addition of Howard Leese soon after, Heart released their debut album Dreamboat Annie in 1975 under the fresh label Mushroom Records. Dreamboat Annie was an instant success in Canada and soon spread into Seattle with singles “Crazy On You” and “Magic Man.”

After their triumphant debut Heart broke ties with Mushroom Records and signed with Portrait. The band’s second album, Little Queen, sold millions and produced the chart- topping hit “Barracuda.”

Before the break up of the original band members in 1979, Heart released the albums Magazine and double-platinum Dog and Butterfly. After their Dog and Butterfly tour, the Fisher brothers left the band. The remaining members went on to release Bebe Le Strange in 1980. That was the final album released before the band called it quits. (Just a note from the Heart Monger Blog...Heart did NOT call it quits after Bebe Le Strange. This writer really should do her homework being a News Director and all. Heart went on to be even more successful in the 80's with hits like These Dreams, Alone, Never, What About Love? Then even into the 90's with All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You, and Will You Be There (in the morning).

A decade passed before Ann and Nancy Wilson joined forces again to release Jupiter’s Darling in 2004. Since then, Heart has been honored at the second VH1 Rock Honors and ranked #57 among VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.
