Heart in Scranton, PA - Review

Heart explodes on stage at Montage gig with Def Leppard
Patrice Wilding (Staff Writer)

Ann and Nancy, the sisters Wilson who front Heart, exploded on stage at the start of their nearly hourlong set Wednesday night at Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain, clad in glittering, shining black leather and lace, looking like fierce femme fatales of rock.

"There's a couple, one has a Heart shirt, one has a (Def) Leppard shirt, and they're sitting together with their arms around each other. They've got it right!" Ann declared two songs in, welcoming the crowd of 8,000. And no doubt, those in attendance seemed equal parts devoted to the co-headlining rockers.

STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART: AN INTERVIEW WITH HOWARD LEESE
By Jeb Wright | classicrockrevisited.com

Jeb: Was the band all involved with each other by that time? You know, the relationships between the guys and the girls in the band…

Howard: "It was very complicated. I was the one who was not dating anybody in the band. I was Howard the Professional. I was classically trained and I tried to stay out of it and just focus on the music. I was the guy who tried to see the big picture. I wanted to put a big frame around Ann Wilson’s vocals. For twenty-two years I was the guy who wanted to make a big showcase for Ann’s vocals, as she was the big talent. I have been really, really blessed as I think she is the best female rock singer ever.

Heart in Charlotte - Review

6/23/11

Ann and Nancy Wilson (61 and 57, respectively, pictured below) looked younger and healthier than most rockers their age.

Nancy Wilson glides across the stage like a gazelle fluidly bouncing and kicking just like she did on MTV in the `80s. While some singers lose range with age, Ann Wilson’s voice remains amazing as exhibited best during the quiet “Alone.” “American Idol” should recruit her as a guest instructor.

Ann Wilson of Heart: Totally rockin' and terminally beautiful
By Mike Dow

Four decades into their career - and working on a fifth - Heart is still a fierce and formidable force.

Ann Wilson's voice (an instrument capable of humbling rockers half her age) has been Heart's one constant from the beginning. This week, she celebrates her 61st birthday, and, along with sister Nancy, she'll do it fronting the band she loves.

Heart Monger Blog Still Beating

6/20/11

One of the main reasons I was going to discontinue this site was due to work. I work in the health care field, and it can be really difficult finding the time to Blog when my schedule can change on a daily basis. Plus, I wanted to offer something different than the other sites that cover Heart related news. With Heart being on this huge tour with Def Leppard, I found it hard not to post and share the videos, reviews and photos. Ann and Nancy are truly awe inspiring performers, and I want to document this tour on this Blog. There are also rumors of Heart working on/considering a new album for 2012, which I just have to cover! :)

I hope the readers here enjoy reading about Heart as much as I enjoy covering their tours and music. I am going to be working on my blog and changing things up a bit, so please hang in there and lets celebrate another amazing tour with Heart.

Atlanta Review

Heart and Def Leppard in Atlanta...Electric...Literally!

Last night the atmosphere at the Lakewood Amphitheater was electric...literally! I experienced one of the strongest displays of thunder, lightening and rain that I have ever seen just before the Def Leppard/Heart concert was to begin.

Eventually, with the storm passed, electricity restored and safety concerns cleared, the concert was a go, with Heart taking the stage at 9 p.m. for a condensed 40-minute set What a shame...they have some great hits, but anyone who has seen Ann and Nancy Wilson and the rest of Heart live before knows that the sisters put their all into everything they do.  Read the entire review here.
